Karlsruhe: The State Art Gallery

With some 800 paintings and sculptures from the past eight centuries, the State Art Gallery in Karlsruhe is one of Germany’s oldest and most important art museums.

See fine examples of works by Monet, Degas, Renoir and Gauguin in the vast collection that is in the main building and also in the neighboring Orangery. As well as the permanent collection, there is an ever-changing program of exhibitions of classical and contemporary art.

This summer’s blockbuster exhibition (April 16 to October 3) features Cézanne, Miró, Matisse, Kirchner, and Beckmann.
