Limes Roman Defences

Two thousand years ago, the Limes was a defensive wall marking the northern border of the Roman Empire.

Of the 3,000 miles/5,000 km that stretched from the Atlantic across Europe to the Black Sea, some 350 miles/550 km ran through the middle of SouthWest Germany. You can still see stone walls, wooden posts, and watchtowers.
Walk along the Limes; imagine being a Roman soldier; and visit the museum for an insight into life 20 centuries ago.
