Acorn spire
In Eichstetten, the newly built Eichelspitze tower was inaugurated in July 2006, on the second highest peak of the Kaiserstuhl, the Eichelspitze.Next to the observation tower, the foundations of the Bruderhäusle, a hermitage with a St. Erhard's chapel, from the 14th century were made visible.

Description
The acorn spire tower has a total height of 42.50 m, the platform height is 28 m. The galvanized steel tower has 143 steps, 15 intermediate platforms and a viewing platform.This tower offers you a magnificent view at the highest level. On a platform at a height of 549 m above sea level you can enjoy a unique view over the entire Kaiserstuhl, the Breisgau Bay, the Black Forest and the Vosges Mountains. If the view is good, you can also discover the Strasbourg Cathedral, the Hornsrinde and the Swiss Jura. The way to the Eichelspitz tower is signposted from the Regio S-Bahn station in Eichstetten (approx. 6 km). The tower is located at the highest point of the geopath.Construction work in connection with the building of the trial tower uncovered traces of the terrain and significant finds relating to the everyday life of the Pauline hermit who lived there, including stove tiles with relief decorations, tools and utensils, and even a Jew's harp. These finds can be viewed in the village museum in Eichstetten during opening hours.
