Battert Rock is located within a specially protected nature reserve.Every year many hikers enjoy the nature, the impressive rock and the old castle ruin of Hohenbaden, the "Altes Schloss".
Hikers and climbers certainly get their money’s worth with dense forest, rugged rock face, accompanied by a breathtaking panoramic view over Baden-Baden, the Black Forest and the Rhine plain.
Climbers are most welcome to this craggy Porphyry Rocks, where tempting routes, for beginners and advanced climbers, are ready to put you to the test. Here you can practice almost all climbing techniques, on the numerous walls and cracks that the rock face has to offer. If you are a climbing novice, but have the urge to experience the thrill of climbing, then why not reserve a place on a guided tour? Regardless of whether you are new to the sport, or an avid climber, there is something for everybody, even for children. Today, the Battert is considered the most important climbing area in the Black Forest and is an ideal training ground for alpine tours. When the weather is nice, the climbing rock offers tempting routes for beginners and advanced climbers on rocks from 15 - 60 meters high.
