However, the reconstruction could not be completed. The reason for this was probably the death of the then owner Karl Eberhard Ludwig von Göler in 1732. Over the decades, the castle fell into disrepair.
In the years 1991 to 2000, the “Citizens' Initiative for the Preservation of the Ruins of the Daisbach Castle” managed to stop the further deterioration of the cultural monument by extensive renovation measures. More than 10,000 hours of work were done by the citizens' action on a voluntary basis. The ruins of posterity are to be preserved as a publicly accessible building.
