In the immediate vicinity of the newly built catholic schoolhouse, a new rectory was built between 1837 and 1838. Seen from the historic city center, both buildings are located outside the city walls, which were largely demolished at the beginning of the 19th century to open up new areas. Since the buildings were built almost at the same time, they have the same design elements, such as the arched windows.
