Probably the oldest small religious monument is the crucifixion group on the east side of the town church from 1742. It was originally set up on the old market square in front of the town hall as a wayside cross in the course of the recatholization campaign of the Electoral Palatinate and was moved in 1812. The work is characterized by expressive facial features and high artistic skill. The sculptor has not yet been identified.
