The old Franconian 17th century farmstead of Lerchennest houses a special feature in the german museum landscape: the only museum dedicated specially to Frederick the Great (1712-1786) recalls his attempt to escape as an 18-year-old Crown Prince in the year 1730.
From illustrative documentations visitors learn interesting Facts about the life and works of Frederick, as well as the reasons why he wanted to flee. In addition, cultural and historical themes are taken up by regular special exhibitions, while the adjoining rooms contain displays of agricultural equipment.
