It
was founded in 1925 in Wuppertal and moved to Schwäbisch Hall in
1943. Since 1982 it has been located in the „Schafstall“
(sheepfold), the former Schwäbisch Hall spa theatre, as a stationary
theatre. Today, with its 6 professional puppet players, it is one of
the biggest theatres of its kind in Germany. The productions are very
elaborate and sophisticated and the repertoire consists of many
different productions for children, teenagers or adults, for instance
„The
Thwarting of Baron Bolligrew“, „Schlupp vom grünen Stern“ or
the „Christmas Carols“. The play and the glimpse behind the
scenes afterwards offers the visitors a special theatre experience.
You will find the current repertoire on Gerhards Marionettentheater.
