For more than 20 years, visitors have been appreciating this challenging and excellently maintained golf course where tee-off times are not required. The 18 holes are picturesquely nestled into the lower slopes of the rolling Kraichgau landscape giving the round a very special character. The club’s focus on the sporting aspects of golf is reflected in the course design: relatively wide fairways and flat, playable bunkers that weave their way from hillock to hillock. The course, however, can bite back when your shots become too wayward as the strategically placed rough may be pretty on the eye but damaging to your score. The same applies to the water hazards that have to be negotiated either from the tee box or when approaching the green. A visit to the excellent restaurant in the listed clubhouse building is very much part and parcel of the golfing experience at Golfclub Johannesthal.
