The city of Meßkirch is the site of the oldest Renaissance four-wing complex north of the Alps. As befitted a castle, the immediately adjacent open landscape was included in the representative designs of the castle. Bagnato carefully designed the area between the courtyard walls and created the courtyard garden after the Baroque model with ground floor, Bosquet and Bosco.
