This imposing mausoleum is modeled on the former Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem with an outer and inner courtyard and sanctuary. The building was completed at the end of the 1920s and served Hermann Weil, a native of Steinsfurt, who died in 1927, as the final resting place until shortly before 1938.
Today the facility belongs to the city of Waibstadt and is maintained according to its importance. The Jewish cemetery, which was probably laid out at the end of the 16th century, was a tribal cemetery; Jews from the Electoral Palatinate region and places immediately adjacent to the Reich found their final resting place in it.
