Description
It got its name from the Krebsbach, a small river that accompanies the railway line to Obergimpern. Due to the connection to the front or "small" Odenwald, it is a scenic route. Over a length of 17 kilometers, it meanders along the valley along Neckarbischofsheim, Helmhof, Untergimpern and Obergimpern, and then plunges into a larger forest near Siegelsbach. On the way from Siegelsbach to Hüffenhardt you are already on the hills of the Neckar valley and can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view. The route is owned by SWEG, which ceased official regular service in July 2009. Since 2010 there has been tourist traffic with a historical railcar on Sundays and public holidays from May to October.
Excursion traffic on the Krebsbachtalbahn usually runs from May 1st and continues until the 3rd Sunday in October. In addition, the train runs every 2nd and 4th Wednesday from May to mid-October.
