New Castle Meersburg towers impressively over the vineyards and the Bodensee. The Baroque residence of the Prince-Bishops of Constance has lost none of its beauty since its construction from 1710 onwards. It impresses with its stately architecture and equipment. Impressive is the staircase leading into the Beletage with its statues and the elaborate ceiling painting. Even today, the tour through the private rooms, state apartments and the Hall of Mirrors with the exhibits on display gives interesting insights into the life of the prince-bishops in the 18th century.
The baroque garden impresses with its magnificent panoramic view of Lake Constance up to the peaks of the Alpine chain. He goes back to the design of Christoph Gessinger 1712, who had created the plant in French style on two terraces. He is an excellent example of how to create a pleasure garden within a confined space. The garden pavilion on the lower terrace is accessible through special tours.

Above all, you can look forward to the most amusing stucco equipment of a baroque building! The castle awaits your guests with its unique atmosphere.

• The special tour "À la française". The Meersburg Hofgarten "makes use of historical images and plans with the refined 18th-century court garden and its role models known. The conclusion is the visit of the "pleasure house" on the lower garden terrace. Dates: 21.4.2019 (14.00), 16.6.2019 (16.00), 18.8.2019 (14.00), 15.9.2019 (14.00) and 6.10.2019 (14.00).
