The museum building was already built in Romanesque times on the north side of the Aureliuskirche and is also an important testimony of the monastery’s history. The exhibition with numerous text and picture panels as well as found objects gives a good insight into the monastery culture of Hirsau dating back more than 1100 years, the life of the monks as well as the local and social history of the spa town of Hirsau between the 19th and 20th century.
