Traditional and cosmopolitan in one – this is the impression given by the 800-year-old former free imperial town of Biberach. The sound of “Swabian German” fills the air, and this place is also home to a number of important tourist routes such as the “Deutsche Fachwerkstraße” (“Half-Timbered House Road”) and the “Oberschwäbische Barockstraße” (“Upper Swabian Baroque Route”). The market square is dominated by the imposing tower of the parish church with its Baroque interior. Magnificent town houses and the “Weberberg” – an historic landmark – with its ancient half-timbered houses characterise the townscape and can all be discovered on a guided tour. A must-see: The “Museum Biberach”. A great tip for those in search of more: The Biberach weekly market, which takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays on the market square.
