Built in 1893-94 and owned by the Steinsfurt Jewish community for 40 years. In 1938 it had to be sold privately. In the period that followed, it experienced various forms of use, be it as a sales room, craft workshop or storage room. What is special about the building is that it has never been structurally changed, thus the condition from 1894 can still be found. Since March 2007 it was restored with funds from the Baden-Württemberg Monument Foundation. The synagogue is supervised by the Verein Alte Synagoge Steinsfurt e.V.
Today, the synagogue serves as a place of remembrance, as an exhibition space and as a location for various cultural events.
