The eastern part of the former city fortifications along the city moat (city gardens) from Pulverturm (Powderptower) to Höllturm tower has almost remained unchanged since 1810.

Here and there you can see loop holes in the wall which has kept its original hight. The iron rings on the Puerturm tower walls show that boats were once tied up here. When the railway was built in the 1860s, the area in front of the city wall was stocked up far into the lake. As a result, part of the tower disappeared in the ground.
