Uphill with the Pistenbully taxi, downhill with the sledge
You can only get to the Krunkelbachhütte on foot in winter. That can be quite exhausting. That's why hut landlord Werner Jünger has come up with a convenient alternative: if you want, you can take a Pistenbully to the hut and then toboggan 3.5 kilometres back to the Hof district. The difference in altitude is a good 400 metres.
If you don't have a sledge, you can hire one at the Krunkelbachhütte and then return it to the Pistenbully station in Bernau-Hof.
