We are a versatile farm with a focus on direct marketing of our own products and work according to the strict Bioland criteria: Our chickens have at least four square metres of outdoor space at their disposal and constant access to pasture except at night. The grazing days for chickens are not prescribed in conventional farming, but in EU organic farming a chicken should be allowed to spend 1/3 of its life on pasture. We produce most of the feed for our animals on our own farmland and grassland. The arable land is used to grow cereals, grain maize, soybeans and clover grass. The grassland is used as pasture and for the production of hay and grass silage.
We look after a flock of about 250 sheep here. These are mainly Suffolk sheep. For at least nine to ten months of the year, the sheep graze on herb-rich meadows and at the same time perform landscape maintenance in a cost-effective and environmentally friendly way. Since 2012 we have also had chickens. About 900 hens lay their eggs in three chicken mobiles and they also spend the night in the shelter of the mobile coops. During the day, they have constant free access to the meadow, where they can pursue their natural needs.
Note: If the weather and the animals allow it, we will gladly take time for you. Please understand that this is not always possible.
Please note that the path through the farm is not a thoroughfare, not even for bicycles.
