The Fürstliche Park Inzigkofen
Look, marvel and stroll along narrow paths, adventurous staircases with magnificent viewpoints.
Beschreibung
Inzigkofen was the favorite residence of the Sigmaringen princess Amalie Zephyrine, who had the princely park laid out in the style of an English landscape garden.
In Inzigkofen Park there are many sights that deserve special attention. Besides the Amalien Rock and the Devil's Bridge, another highlight is the swinging suspension bridge installed over the Danube, which reunites both parts of the park south and north of the Danube.
The Inzigkofer Grottoes are another impressive natural monument. The picturesque rock formations are washouts of mass limestones and were formed about 150 million years ago. Directly above is the lookout point Känzele, which offers a beautiful panoramic view of the Danube valley.
Those interested in culture will also get their money's worth in Inzigkofen Park. In addition to the monastery Inzigkofen (today an adult education center) with its baroque church worth seeing and the lovingly laid out herb garden, the farmer's museum can also be explored.
Hiking enthusiasts can combine their visit to Inzigkofen Park with a hike along the "Klosterfelsenweg", the premium hiking trail of the so calles Donaufelsenläufe. This trail leads directly through the park.
On weekends, holidays and during vacation periods, a higher number of visitors can be expected when the weather is nice.
The municipal enforcement service of the municipality of Inzigkofen carries out controls and patrols in the park. Visitors are asked to observe the traffic rules and the regulations of the municipal police order.
