The museum is in Hinterzarten, right below the Adler Ski Jump. The house, an old Black Forest building, is located centrally in a nice woodland garden.
The large number of exhibits provides an in-depth insight into how children used to play, starting in 1890 up until the 1960s. Visitors can go on a journey of discovery and learn how things like domestic culture and fashion changed over the years. Children can look at the toys that their parents and grandparents once played with, while the adults will recall their own childhood.
In addition to the existing exhibits, special exhibitions present other thematic collections.
