The museum shows a fantastic marine world with ichthyosaurs, plesiosaurs, crocodile dinosaurs and pterosaurs, as well as large colonies of crinoids, ammonites and belemnites from the former Jurassic Sea on a good 1000 square meters of exhibition space.
The exhibition of fossils is vividly accompanied by display boards, dioramas, videos and computer animations. How the fossils were formed millions of years ago is explained just as vividly as the work of the museum workshop, where the remains of the prehistoric sea dwellers are carefully uncovered. The most impressive specimen in the museum is the world's largest colony of crinoids.
For an impression of how imposing the inhabitants of the earth were in the Jurassic period 180 million years ago, the Dino Park in the museum's outdoor area provides life-size replicas of eight dinosaurs.
