The "Wollmatinger Ried" is one of the oldest and most important nature reserves on the German side of Lake Constance. Its shoreline reed areas, marshlands and alluvial forests are home to a fascinating world of flora and fauna. You may observe numerous rare and near extinct animal and plant species in their natural habitat. The NABU Konstanz Group has been protecting this 767-hectare nature and landscape conservation area since 1979.
Due to the sensitive flora and fauna, the Wollmatinger Marsh is closed to the public, but may be entered with experts from NABU. In addition to plants and animal lectures, regular tours provide information about the area’s history, modern threats and care of this sensitive biome.
