The 1.8-kilometre woodland trail along the Altvater makes an entertaining stroll for the whole family, with plenty to discover and learn. On narrow paths the trail passes through changing forest landscapes along a quarry. The loop provides information about the forest ecosystem and its trees and animals.
To learn about the secrets of native trees and shrubs, simply take a moment to read the signs placed along the trail.
Visitors are rewarded with magnificent views of Lahr, the foothills and the Langenhard National Natural Heritage Site. A small woodland playground offers an opportunity to rest and play.

Route: Hollow tree trunk at Robinsoneck – Philosophenweg – forest playground and return trip
