This beautiful place is situated on the southern slope of the Kleiner Odenwald, a range of hills that extends a long way, creating an interesting geographical effect. Seven streets lead into the centre of the village, with its Rathaus (town hall), ancient St. Mary’s Chapel and former Protestant school. The little village is full of beautiful half-timbered houses, the oldest of which is from the 16th century and can be found at the Kreuzweg (junction). Epfenbach’s highlight of the year is its market day on the first Saturday in October.
The village is marked by a mixture of tradition and warmth guaranteed to create a feeling of wellbeing.
