The medieval Yburg Castle rises from the vineyards as a landmark of the municipality, consisting of the sub-villages of Rommelshausen and Stetten, visible from afar. Excellent restaurants and award-winning wineries attract visitors to the town. The surrounding nature, in turn, attracts those seeking relaxation outdoors. Many paths lead to magnificent viewpoints, natural monuments, the romantic Haldenbach valley or the densely wooded Schurwald heights.
The town centers have been carefully renovated. Today, Kernen presents itself as modern and progressive, but at the same time with an idyllic village character. Further sustainable attractions were created as part of the Remstal Garden Show 2019: Resting places to linger, imaginative playscapes, the ducal marble run and new festivals and meeting places.
Over the centuries, Romans, Truchsesses and Württemberg dukes have left behind impressive traces. Contemporary witnesses include the enigmatic Yburg Castle, Stetten Castle with its magnificent castle courtyard and park, the historical museum under the Yburg Castle, the churches, the impressively renovated Glockenkelter and the Villa Rustica.
Immerse yourself in history, enjoy the magnificent view, exciting cultural events, diverse and first-class gastronomy or visit one of the popular local festivals.
