The centrepiece is the summer residence with its magnificent palace garden, one of the most beautiful gardens in Europe. The city centre is only a few steps away from the palace, and the palace square with its numerous cafés invites visitors to linger in a Mediterranean flair.
During the festival season, local restaurants offer delicacies based on the famous Schwetzingen asparagus. Schwetzingen also has a lot to offer in terms of festivities: Schwetzingen SWR Festival, Schwetzingen Mozart Festival, Baroque Festival "Winter in Schwetzingen", Music in the Park, Classic Gala, Festival of Lights, "Kulturfürstlicher Weihnachtsmarkt". movement and meeting facility are all excellent excursion options. The lovingly crafted bronze sculptures of the asparagus woman and the "lucky pig" are also a must-see.
