Überlingen on Lake Constance - a place full of (hi)story
Anyone arriving in Überlingen is immediately immersed in the history of the former Free Imperial City. Today, the former city fortifications form a green belt around the old town and contribute significantly to the special atmosphere of the city. The image of the old town is characterized by historic patrician houses, the St. Nicholas Minster and the late Gothic town hall. The guided tours of the town, which are offered all year round, provide an exciting insight into life in earlier times.
Garden city rich in tradition
Überlingen looks back on a long tradition as a garden city. The town garden, which is a listed building, was laid out as early as 1875. Impressive giant trees are still witnesses of this time. Rocks, small winding paths and enchanted, flower-covered arbors can be found on various levels.
The favorable climate at the foot of the molasse rocks allows Mediterranean and exotic plants to thrive. The signposted "Garden Culture Path" connects the most beautiful parks, gardens and green spaces with each other over a length of about four kilometers.

Überlingen is also an ideal place to do something for your health. Early on, Überlingen was considered a sophisticated health resort and is the only town in Baden-Württemberg to have held the title of Kneipp spa since 1955. Today, the focus of those seeking recuperation is on fasting, and with an orthopedic and internal medicine aftercare clinic, Überlingen offers not only prevention but also the possibility of rehabilitation.

From Easter to mid-October, numerous ships, including the MS Überlingen of Bodensee-Schiffsbetriebe, depart from the landing place for round trips and excursions in the four-country region of Lake Constance.

Whether above the lake, surrounded by orchards or directly on the water - the seven sub-villages of Überlingen all have their very own character and each has special locations that are excellent starting points for leisurely biking and hiking tours around Lake Constance or through the Linzgau region.
The premium hiking trail SeeGang connects the towns of Überlingen and Constance and leads past vineyards, over meadows with scattered fruit trees, through shady forest paths as well as imposing ravines, offering dreamlike views again and again.
