The municipality consists of Niederwinden and Oberwinden (upper and lower Winden). Just outside Oberwinden on the Dobelberg is Edith Fehrenbach’s garden of medicinal plants. This heavenly place provides relaxation and revitalisation for body and soul.
Winden is also famous for the Hörnleberg. The mountain is home to the pilgrims’ chapel "Unserer Lieben Frau vom Hörnleberg" (Our Lady of Hörnleberg) which is visited by many pilgrims each year. The well-known Kräuterbüschelweihe (consecration of bunches of healing plants) and torchlight procession are held there on Assumption Day. In September, it is the turn of the mountain bike pilgrimage.
