Play in the orchestra!
Normally it's said: "Learn your instrument for a few years and then join the orchestra." We see it differently. If you didn't experience the magic of the big sound in the middle of the orchestra at an early age, you might not even know what you're constantly practising for on your own. So today we go into the orchestra - even with little previous knowledge. Because our orchestra is special. On the one hand, there are the Kindersinfoniker: a children's orchestra from Gauting near Munich for children from the age of seven, founded and artistically supervised by the famous violinist Julia Fischer. They are joined by soloists from the equally famous English orchestra Academy of St Martin in the Fields. Together with the children, they discover the magic of orchestral playing and develop a programme which they will then present in a final concert.
Rehearsals with the star violinist
Before every big concert there are rehearsals. In two workshops, star violinist Julia Fischer and the musicians of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields respond to the children, take their individual skills into account and integrate them into the overall ensemble. They practise together, laugh about many a mistake and look forward to the final concert together.
