A so-called "Besen" is a traditional tavern that is only open a few weeks per year. Here, the winemakers sell their own wine: in Spring the wine from the year before and in autumn new wine. Typically, they only serve wine, water and some simple dishes.
The Altstadt-Besen is an institution in Tübingen: Located in the very heart of Tübingen, the winemaker family Brenner is serving wine, which is grown around Tübingen and on the Wurmlinger Chapel's hill.
