From the "Känzele", the crest of an imposing rocky outcrop at a dizzying height above the Danube, a wonderful view across the Degernau to the ruins of Gebrochen Gutenstein is offered.
Below the Känzeles are the Inzigkofer Grottoes, rock overhangs and a huge rock gate. The picturesque rock formations are outwashings of mass limestones, which were formed from sponge reefs in the tropical-warm White Jurassic Sea about 150 million years ago.
The viewpoint "Känzele" is located on the hiking trail Klosterfelsenweg - one of the 5 Sigmaringen premium hiking trails - the Donaufelsenläufe.
