Description
Nöggenschwiel is the highest Rose village in the Black Forest. From the end of May / early June (depending on the start of the Rose flower) to autumn (before the first frost) our Rose village is worth seeing.
About 20 000 rose bushes in a variety of species can be seen throughout the village. A special feature is the "Rosensortimentsgarten". Alone in this garden bloom nearly 1,800 rose bushes in about 187 varieties, which are tested for frost hardiness.
The Rose village is nice to discover during a little walk, so you have lots of time and leisure to indulge in the fragrance and enjoy the beautiful colors.
For those who want to learn more, there are village tours that can be booked through the tourist information office.
Tours are available in the main flowering period, from late May to mid-July and the second bloom in early September.
The 32 km long roses hiking path takes you through all the districts of Weilheim. Discover the diversity of wild roses and their fragrances. Enjoy the view points with the views of the Black Forest, the Hotzenwald and the Swiss Alps. The roses adventure path can be divided into smaller sections.
