Description
The southern wine town of Bretzfeld in Hohenlohe is the starting point of this stage.
Without any significant elevation gain and lined by the foothills of the Löwenstein mountains, the route always stays at the bottom of the valley. At Lake Breitenau, a detour to the "Wengertshäusle" is worthwhile on Sundays and holidays - a wine tavern in a wonderful panoramic location.
Along the Sulm River, the Württemberg Wine Cycle Path leads through the Weinsberg Valley. A nice place to take a break and enjoy the view is the castle ruin Weibertreu above the wine village Weinsberg. Halfway up the hill, the wine and rose circular trail runs around the castle hill (approx. 50 hm extra).
The stage destination is Heilbronn, the wine town on the Neckar.
Author's recommendation
View from the castle ruin Weibertreu Weinsberg:
Especially beautiful in June/July during the main blooming time of the roses - Around the Weibertreu there is a wine and rose circular path, which is not only beautiful to look at, but also a learning path.
Tip for break days or the evening program:
An entertaining wine experience tour - as a short walk, riding in the wine mobile or on the Segway and always with a tasting directly on the vine.
