Description
Nestled on the slopes of the Merkur, there is a wildlife enclosure where you will find all sorts of wild and wonderful creatures.
A hiking trail of 4,5 km leads around the game reserve and due to only slight incline and a good width you can enjoy the hike with a pram as well. Big and small children most certainly will be thrilled and happily take the short signposted walk from the Merkur Cable Car station to the game enclosure for this great animal and nature experiance.
From the starting point at the Merkur funicular railroad, the trail leads past the „Müllenbildstraße“ via the „Hässlichmatte“ to the game reserve. From there it continues through the „Eckhöfe“ and the „Waldcafé“ (restaurant with the possibility to stop for a break) back to the Merkur station.
Distance: 4. 5 km with a slight incline
Time needed: approximately 1 hour 30 minutes at a leisurely pace
The starting point at the Merkur cable car station can be reached by car or by public transport
Bus lines 204 and 205
