Württemberg Valley Cycle Route - Stage 1: Crailsheim to Aalen
Medium
In the heart of the historic Hohenlohe region, in Crailsheim, lies the starting point of the Württemberg Valley Cycle Route. Here, cyclists can replenish their energy reserves with a tasting of the local pastry Crailsheimer Horaffe before setting off on the first stage. From there, the trail leads through the rural Jagst Valley, which offers repeated views of castles and palaces perched photogenically on rocky outcrops. In Ellwangen, art lovers will encounter works by the creative priest Sieger Köder, who created colourful Christian paintings and nativity scenes in the 20th century. At the end of the route in Aalen, the turbulent legend of the spy of Aalen provides amusement.
