Currently home to four breweries, Ehingen has made beer its trademark and dubbed itself “Beer Culture City”. Since then, this charming town on the Danube has been considered the place for unforgettable beer experiences, whether on a multimedia, beer-themed city tour or exploring the popular beer hiking trail

This picturesque trail leads to the Berg district and its Bergbier Brewery, complete with an inn and beer cellar where guests can buy beer until last call every night. The beer also flows freely for guests in Ehingen’s Schwanen Brewery, whose entertaining beer seminars are legendary.

That's the beauty of modern-day breweries: they have an ambiance and beer menu that’s worthy of the name. Visitors to the Hops Museum in Tettnang can unravel the secret of one of the world’s most sought-after hop varieties while exploring an active hops farm.

Nowadays, many breweries even open their doors to the public, allowing you to enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at beer production at the Black Forest’s Rothaus Brewery or the Eichbaum Brewery in the Palatinate – take your pick! Ganter Brewery in Freiburg is home to a walk-in fermentation tank, while the Alpirsbacher Klosterbräu repurposed its brewing cellar as a ceremonial room.

In many smaller microbreweries, guests can learn about the more adventurous artisans from the bold and creative craft beer scene. And let’s not forget that beer tasting has also become an integral part of the Slow-Food Trade Fair in Stuttgart.
