An excellent hiking area is the Blaubeuren valley-basin, with the famous Blautopf, densely forested cliffs and hillsides, striking boulders and vantage points.
Although the tour offers countless natural gems, the steep rock faces, such as that of the cave and rock formation “Küssende Sau” are particularly awe inspiring. Additionally you will pass the mystical karst spring Blautopf before returning to the Glasfels and Blaufels.
Once you have arrived on the Alb plateau, the hike continues around and through the forests to the outskirts of Sonderbuch; from there on the path leads back through the forests to the “Rusenschloss” (ruins of a castle built on a rock-face) and finally down the Frauenberg pass into the valley “Blautal” ending in Blaubeuren.
