Heimatpfad Kniebis (Local History Trail)

From the "Ellbachseeblick" viewing platform, walk down to the idyllic glacial lake "Ellbachsee". Distance 1.5 km, difference in altitude: 150 m, duration: 45 minutes.

Starting from the visitor centre, the trail takes you along the Räuberwegle section to the Ellbachseeblick viewing platform, then along the edge of the forest with fine views over the village. Benches invite you to rest and enjoy the sun. You then take the Vogel- & Jägerpfad (bird & hunters path) towards your next destination, the abbey ruins at Kniebis-Dorf. Past the Abendwieshütte BBQ area, you then return to the start via Baden Kniebis. Look out for the well-preserved traces of the Zähring era on the Grenzweg.

Rugged footwear is recommended.
