Directions
The hiking route goes all around Lake Constance. Although the path is not always directly on the coast the route often leads to particularly nice paths in the surrounded countryside or above the lake. The main path is continuous and indicated at the national borders. The signal is a white sign with an open black circle coloured in blue.

Shorten the route:
The 270 km route can of course be shortened at own discretion. The route section around the Überlinger See, for example, can be bypassed with the car ferry Constance – Meersburg. The route around the Untersee can also be bypassed at own discretion, by going from Kreuzlingen directly to Constance and continuing until Bodman-Ludwigshafen. Some single routes, during summer, can be bypassed by taking the Lake Constance boats and all year long by taking the car ferries, trains and busses. Basically it's also possible to make some day trips, coming back to the same place; Lake Constance boats and public transports can make this easier.
