Our certified quality Löwenpfad hiking trails take you through our beautiful Swabian landscapes with delightful panoramic views, fascinating nature, and mysterious places. With its sixteen loop trails with distances varying between 3 and 24 kilometres it provides routes for everyone.
The Löwenpfad trail "Wasserberg-Runde" near Unterböhringen and Hausen is a hiking loop trail certified by the German Hiking Association. The approximately 12.0-kilometre-long tour starts at the hiker's car park between Reichenbach im Täle and Unterböhringen and leads directly to the Wasserberg-Haarberg conservation area. The path runs above a large and steep juniper heath up to the top of the Haarberg with a fantastic view. Many rare orchids can be found among numerous animal and plant species that have developed here.
Then the trail takes us through forests and meadows, past the "new weather oak", the crest of Unterböhringen. At the edge of the mountain you will be presented with a breath-taking, beautiful view of Unterböhringen and the Fils valley. The steep descent takes you across heathlands to Unterböhringen, where you can stop for refreshments. On the half-high trail on the left slope of the valley the trail continues to Hausen and then along the Weigoldsberg alternately through heaths, meadows and forests back to the starting point between Reichenbach im Täle and Unterböhringen.
