We start at the Hotel Teuchelwald. Along the "Rosenweg" trail and along the Wölperwiesenweg trail we reach the large market square of Freudenstadt.
The Ostweg leads us in a north-easterly direction through the foothills of the Black Forest to the villages of Wittlensweiler, Grüntal-Frutenhof and Musbach. The views stretch across the meadows and fields to the surrounding villages and as far as the Swabian Alb. Our next stop is the village of Igelsberg, which is like a sunny island in the middle of the Black Forest. You'll find various BBQ and rest areas where you can eat and relax. The last section takes us through an extensive forested area to Seewald-Besenfeld and Hotel Oberwiesenhof which is located in the middle of the village.
This section of the trail contains an above-average amount of tarmac as several villages are crossed, and the area is agricultural. The forest trails are mostly well-maintained, and you even walk a few beautiful forest paths. The landscape is more varied and features extensive views and sunny resting spots. There are several short ascents and descents along the route.
