The hiking trail of 4,5 km leads around the game reserve and due to only slight incline and a good width you can enjoy the hike with a pram as well. Big and small children most certainly will be thrilled and happily take the short signposted walk from the Merkur Cable Car station to the game enclosure - the home of deers, fallow deers, mouflons and wild boars.
From the starting point at the Merkur funicular railroad, the trail leads past the „Müllenbildstraße“ via the „Hässlichmatte“ to the game reserve. From there it continues through the „Eckhöfe“ and the „Waldcafé“ (restaurant with the possibility to stop for a break) back to the Merkur station. A special treat along the way is found at the "Marienkapelle" (chapel) on "Eckberg" hill, where you should take a moment to enjoy the beautiful view down into the valley and the village "Lichtental".
