The musicians take us into an ingenious labyrinth of mirrors: Bach's Third Brandenburg Concerto, perhaps the most beautiful Baroque work for pure string ensemble.Music liberates - sometimes literallyNaturally, Anne-Sophie Mutter not only plays along, but also appears as a soloist - for example in Bach's First Violin Concerto. From here, the artist continued to look around the 18th century, a land of milk and honey as far as violin repertoire is concerned. Her discoveries? A wildly bizarre work by the Italian Veracini, as well as the Violin Concerto by de Saint-Georges. This musician, highly successful in his time, was not allowed to lead the Académie royale de musique only because he was black: the artist was born the son of a young slave from Guadeloupe.
