Made from red sandstone, its shape bears resemblance to the wayside shrines of earlier times. However, the stone image was actually created around 1990. It is evident that the mason modelled the relief-like image of the Virgin Mary according to an Italian Renaissance painting. The Virgin Mary is depicted within a protective oval frame. The rays around her extend outwards. They are designed to draw in and share the light with those passing by.
