Here you will find art and culture as well as office buildings and restaurants. The former inn is still home to a restaurant, the "Im Schlachthof". The restaurant is particularly popular for brunch on Sundays. Not far away you will find the "Carls Wirtshaus", the "Aurum Weinbar" or the "Alte Hackerei", a bar with regular live music.
If you want to shake a leg after dinner, the Tollhaus or Substage are just the place for you. The diverse cultural programme offers a mixture of music, dance, and cabaret for everyone.
Perfekt Futur is a special place for young start-ups. The former pig market hall houses 68 used sea freight containers with office units.
The Karlsruhe Human Rights Centre is also located on the site of the Alter Schlachthof.
