The Romans discovered the healing properties of the twelve thermal springs and built the first thermal baths in Baden-Baden 2000 years ago. 800,000 litres of water per day spring up from a depth of 2,000 metres to the modern Caracalla Spa, offering visitors from around the world an exclusive spa experience. There is a range of pools at the Caracalla Spa, with temperatures between 18° C and 38° C, which are perfect for a nice long bathing session in the beneficial thermal waters. As well as the attractive bathing pools, there is much more for visitors to enjoy in the extensive indoor area, including a rock grotto with hot and cold water, a relaxing aromatic steam bath, and a salt water inhalation room. In the large outdoor area there are two marble pools, a current channel, two whirlpools and a large grass sunbathing area with sun loungers. The outdoor pools are a special highlight in the winter.
