Description
The Fossil Museum at the Holcim (Süddeutschland) GmbH invites visitors on an exciting excursion into the history of the earth: around 1,000 exhibits take visitors back to the Jurassic period. The fascinating 180-million-year-old fossils from the oil shale are world-famous, e.g. fish dinosaurs, pterosaurs, crocodiles, fish, crinoids and ammonites. The "geological ramp" provides exciting insights into the unimaginably long history of life's development.
With hammer and chisel, young and old can go on their own search for fossilized witnesses of time at the fossil site (knocking place) in front of the Werkforum. Hammer and chisel as well as protective goggles will be handed out at the reception.
In addition to this, visitors can also learn about the history of Holcim at the plant forum. Cultural events are also held on a regular basis.
