Description

With the help of numerous original exhibits, attractive room and media installations as well as explanatory texts, visitors gain exciting insights into the fascinating world of minerals and the importance of mining for industrialization and the emergence of the money economy in the Black Forest. The time period depicted in the exhibition ranges from the Celts through the Middle Ages to the present day.

"What do mining, minerals and ores have to do with the economic history of the Black Forest?" Under this guiding question, the exhibition presents the fascinating diversity of minerals and shows how their mining and use have shaped people's lives to this day.
